Sberbank was previously known as Texakabank in Kazakhstan. It has been a subsidiary of the Sberbank Group since 2006. This acquisition was actually Sberbank’s first foray into the international arena. As of November 2019, Sberbank has the second largest asset base among all banks in the country. Headquartered in Almaty, the bank has 100 structural subdivisions which include 17 branches. With KZT 2.2 trillion in assets, it employs 3,940 people to serve its 1.4 million customers.

What we proposed
Pri-Num proposed the development of a new Android app for Sberbank. With the power of the Visa Token Service, Mastercard Digital Enablement Service and Scan to Pay, the Sberbank Pay KZ app will enable customers to make secure mobile payments.
How it worked
Sberbank Pay KZ is a custom digital payment app for Android smartphones that allows for quick and easy mobile payments using NFC technology. The app is available for all Android devices running version 7 or higher. Once the app is installed, users only need to register their bank cards with the app once before they can start making payments.
Card networks’ support
As a result of this collaborative effort between Pri-Num and Sberbank, the latter’s customers who are Mastercard cardholders are now able to use their smartphones to make contactless payments at all merchants that accept contactless payments.
The results
Sberbank was able to provide a contactless payments solution to its customers through Pri-Num’s multicredential end-to-end cloud-based software solution. It ensures the security of contactless payments, allowing customers to make mobile payments with their Mastercard without any worries.
